Kuwait and Iraq have taken a significant step towards resolving longstanding bilateral issues by agreeing to form a joint working team. This decision was made during a meeting between Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al Zaidi. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The newly established team will be tasked with reviewing outstanding matters between the two countries and developing a roadmap to address these issues. They are expected to submit their recommendations to the leadership of both nations within 30 days. Meetings will be held alternately in Kuwait and Baghdad, continuing until the team’s mandate is fulfilled.

Both Kuwait and Iraq have expressed strong support for this initiative, emphasizing their commitment to not only resolving existing disputes but also to bolstering cooperation and partnership. The formation of this joint team signifies a proactive approach by both nations to enhance their diplomatic relations and address any unresolved concerns.

This move marks a positive development in Kuwait-Iraq relations and reflects a mutual desire to strengthen ties. By working collaboratively, both countries aim to pave the way for a more stable and cooperative future in the region.
