Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism, Sayyid Ibrahim Said Al Busaidi, recently engaged in discussions with Italian officials and institutions to explore potential partnerships in tourism development and heritage preservation. The meetings, which took place during Al Busaidi’s visit to Italy, focused on leveraging Italian expertise to enhance Oman’s tourism offerings and cultural exchange.
In particular, Al Busaidi met with representatives from the Italian Alpine Club and Renco Company, aiming to incorporate Italian experience in mountain and adventure tourism into Oman’s diverse tourism landscape. The discussions addressed trail development and related services, highlighting opportunities to expand Oman’s appeal to adventure tourists.
Al Busaidi also visited the Colosseum Archaeological Park, where he engaged with management to learn about archaeological site preservation and heritage management. The exchange of expertise in these areas was a focal point, with both parties considering ways to improve visitor experiences and professional capabilities.
Promoting Oman through sports tourism was another key aspect of the visit. Al Busaidi met with Inter Milan representatives to discuss showcasing Oman’s tourism attractions to international audiences, potentially drawing more visitors to the country.
The visit included a presentation on the Italian tourism market, aiming to strengthen Oman’s presence and attract Italian tourists. Meetings with Italian media were also held to highlight Oman’s rich cultural heritage, historical sites, and diverse tourism experiences.
This initiative is part of Oman’s broader strategy to build international partnerships, attract visitors from target markets, and utilize global expertise in developing tourism products while safeguarding its cultural heritage.
