Oman’s Ministry of Labour has announced that the country will observe its National Day holiday in 2026 on Wednesday, November 25, and Thursday, November 26. This decision allows citizens and residents to enjoy a four-day break by combining the holiday with the weekend. The announcement is part of the official schedule of national and religious holidays for 2026, aimed at helping both public and private sector organizations plan their work schedules accordingly.

National Day in Oman is a significant event marked by celebrations across various governorates, showcasing the nation’s rich heritage, culture, and national identity. The advance notice of the holiday dates provides ample time for organizations and individuals to prepare for the festivities, which often include cultural events and public gatherings.

In addition to National Day, the Ministry has outlined other holidays for 2026. These include the Sultan’s Accession Day on January 15, Al Isra’a Wal Mi’raj on January 18, the Hijri New Year on June 18, and the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday on August 27. The dates for Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha will be announced separately, as they are dependent on the lunar calendar and the official sighting of the moon.

The announcement of these holidays underscores Oman’s commitment to preserving its cultural traditions and ensuring that citizens and residents can participate in these significant national and religious events. By planning these holidays well in advance, the government aims to facilitate better organizational and personal planning, enhancing the overall experience of these celebrations.
