Oman and Tanzania are actively working to bolster their trade and investment ties, seeking to create new business opportunities between the two nations. This development follows a series of meetings held by a delegation from Oman’s Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion with Tanzanian government officials and business leaders. The discussions centered on enhancing economic connections, identifying potential investment avenues, and fostering private-sector collaborations.
Ibtisam Ahmed Al Farooji, who serves as the Undersecretary for Investment Promotion at the Omani ministry, emphasized the significance of Tanzania as a key economic ally in East Africa. She outlined Oman’s interest in expanding partnerships in sectors with promising investment prospects. The discussions also highlighted Oman’s advantageous strategic location, robust infrastructure, and attractive investment incentives such as the Golden Residency Programme, which could appeal to international investors and support long-term business relationships.
The meetings explored possibilities for Omani companies to increase their footprint in African markets while simultaneously offering Tanzanian businesses opportunities to invest in Oman. Both countries underscored the importance of enhancing communication between government entities and private-sector representatives to facilitate joint ventures.
This initiative is part of Oman’s broader strategy to extend its economic collaborations across Africa, building upon its longstanding diplomatic and economic relations with Tanzania. The effort reflects a mutual interest in leveraging economic synergies to benefit businesses and economies on both sides.
